Azharuddin Wins It For The Mariners In Mini-Derby

Azharuddin Mullick was the hero for  Mohun Bagan and saved his club from the blushes of dropping points again in a row.He scored his second in the game in the 91st minute to down the brilliant show put up by the Mohammedan Sporting Club today.. The Green and Maroon Brigade defeated the Black panthers by 2-1.Mohammedan took the lead when MK Faiz scored in the 22nd minute of the match.Azharuddin retained parity for his side in the 38th minute mark to end the first half 1-1.

As the second mini-derby is yet to be played between Mohammedan and East Bengal on 16th of September, Mohun Bagan can expect a rock solid performance from their opponents today,  and will be hoping for East Bengal to loose one point atleast before the final showdown of this year’s league, the Kolkata Derby on the final matchday.
