Brazil Outplay Honduras To Advance Into Quarter Finals


Two goals by Brenner helped Brazil into the quarter-finals of the after a 3-0 victory over Honduras at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi on this evening. The result sets up a mouth-watering tie with Germany in the last eight in Kolkata on Sunday.

It was the South American champions that gained control of the contest from the kick-off, with Brenner scoring the first one on 11 minutes. Brazil then took further command of the match with a second goal just before the break, as Marcos Antonio gave his side a double lead, on 44 minutes. Brenner completed his brace right after the first half, when he killed the match, on the 56th minute mark.
