East Bengal Bounce Back Strong After Defeat In Kolkata Derby

East Bengal blew their opponents Shillong Lajong FC  by a massive scoreline of 5-1. The Red and Gold brigade dominated the entire game. With two goals in the first half, they looked desperate to win the game. The first goal came in the 14th minute of the match through Mahmoud Al Amna. East Bengal doubled their lead minutes later when the Eduardo Ferreira headed home in the 19th minute off a Katsumi Yusa corner. Shillong looked to comeback in the second half as the Kolkata outfits completely dominated the first half but to much avail.

The second half witnessed 4 more goals in total. A solo brilliant goal in the 52nd minute from Laldanamwia Ralte saw 3-0 for the home side as Shillong gasped to pull one back. Ralte scored again in the 65th minute to make it 4-0. Katsumi Yusa scored from a penalty to make it 5-0 and add more salt to the wound. However Shillong pulled one back late in the 86th minute by Samuel’s goal, which only stood as a consolation goal for the visitors.
