Philippe Le Floc’h, who was appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of FIFA last September, was in New Delhi on Thursday as part of an event related to the 2017 U-17 World Cup.
With the 2017 U-17 World Cup little over a six months away, India is gearing up to host what will be the biggest ever international football event on its soil. The tournament starts from October 6, with the final on October 28.
“The benefits of being associated with the U-17 World Cup are twofold. Firstly, you have the prestige of being associated with a World Cup, the visibility from which will be huge. Secondly, you are also helping football develop in India by supporting youth development in the sport. We hope that the U-17 World Cup will be a game-changer for India. Anything that Indian companies can do to support that will be a positive for them,” Le Floc’h said.
