Huge Blow For East Bengal After VP Suhair’s Injury Ahead Of Facing Lajong FC

The Red and Gold brigade who have been in a rather poor form off late owing to strikers not being able to score received a huge blow when V.P. Suhair got injured during practice. The striker who was in a brilliant form in the CFL twisted his ankle while attempting a header. Owing to bad landing he twisted his right ankle and had to be taken out of the field from assistance from Joby Justin. Suhair then spent the rest of the practice in the dressing room after which he was sent to a private hospital while his MRI would be done tomorrow. this major injury concern would bother Khalid Jamil as other strikers have failed to score off late. Close sources has revealed that the injury is very serious. There has been a large swelling and more would be revealed after the reports come of MRI tomorrow. This rules out Suhair from starting on saturday.
When the East Bengal team took the field in the afternoon, off-form striker Willis Plaza was booed by the fans who shouted “Go Back Plaza” slogans. However the incident was short lived.
The Red and Gold brigade would be facing Lajong FC on Saturday and as a result Khalid Jamil had planned that he will practice at Barasat to get accustomed to the field conditions. However this plan of practicing in the morning too was obstructed when he came to know that Mohun Bagan had booked the field from morning. Bagan has booked the ground as they too would be facing Churchill Brothers on Sunday. East Bengal as a result would be practicing at 4PM in the afternoon at Barasat.
