ROUND OF 16

26-05-2015 SOUTH CHINA AA  2-0 JSW BENGALURU FC

MATCH REPORT

SOUTH CHINA AA 2 – 0 JSW BENGALURU FC     A brace from Australian striker Daniel McBreen consigned Bengaluru FC to a 2-0 defeat to South China AA and ended the Blues’ run in the AFC Cup at the Mongkok Stadium, in Hong Kong.

JSW BENGALURU FC 2 – 1 MAZIYA SPORTS & RECREATION     Bengaluru FC scripted a historic first win in Asian competition as Shankar Sampingiraj headed home in 93rd minute to give the Blues a 2-1 win over Maldivian side Maziya S&RC in a Group E opener of the AFC Cup at the Kanteerava Stadium, in Bengaluru,Bengaluru looked like cruising to three points after a 67th-minute header by Sunil Chhetri gave the Blues a lead. But a John Johnson handball in the box three minutes from time saw the visitors equalise when Mohamed Umair scored from the spot. However, falling back on the resilience that has seen them through many tough situations, Bengaluru got their winner when Shankar nodded home Rooney’s freekick to send the BFC faithful into a rapture.
PERSIPURA JAYAPURA 3 – 1 JSW BENGALURU FC     Bengaluru FC’s first away game of the AFC Cup ended in a 3-1 defeat to Persipura Jayapura after a Robertino Pugliara brace and an early opening goal by midfielder Ian Kabes were highlights in a dominant show by the Indonesian club at the Mandala Stadium, in Jayapura. Substitute CK Vineeth headed a consolation goal in the 90th minute but it was too little too late for the Blues.
JSW BENGALURU FC 1 – 0 WARRIORS FC     A first-half penalty by Joshua Walker was enough to see off Singapore club Warriors FC as the Blues garnered an important 1-0 win in an AFC Cup Group E game at the Kanteerava Stadium, in Bengaluru. Bengaluru’s second win in three games takes them to six points and keeps their chase of qualifying for the pre-quarterfinal stage, firmly on track.
WARRIORS FC 0 – 1 JSW BENGALURU  FC     Robin Singh fired home a long-range winner a little short of fifteen minutes from time to give Bengaluru FC a 0-1 over Warriors FC at the Jalan Besar Stadium, in Singapore. Bengaluru’s first away win in Asia came after they endured a frustrating 75 minutes where a combination of fine goalkeeping and lackadaisical finishing meant the overwhelming domination by the visitors would count for nothing. Bengaluru FC now have nine points from 4 games and sitting second on the Group E table, are well on track to make it out of the group stages
MAZIYA SPORTS & RECREATION 1 – 2 JSW BENGALURU FC     Sunil Chhetri ended his goal drought in style; scoring a brace when it mattered the most as Bengaluru FC came back from a goal down to beat Maziya S&RC 1-2 at the National Football Stadium, in Maldives. With this win Bengaluru FC sealed their place in the last-16 of the AFC Cup.
JSW BENGALURU FC 1 – 3 PERSIPURA JAYAPURA     Bengaluru FC side went down 1-3 to Indonesian club Persipura Jayapura in their final Group E match of the AFC Cup at the Kanteerava Stadium. Udanta Singh’s first goal for the club gave Bengaluru a 24th minute lead before an equaliser from Robertino Pugliara and second half goals from Imanuel Wanggai and Boaz Solossa ensured Persipura’s pole position.

MATCH REPORT

JOHOR DARUL TA’ZIM 4 – 1 KINGFISHER EAST BENGAL FC     Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta’zim began their AFC Cup campaign in emphatic fashion with a convincing 4-1 victory over Kingfisher East Bengal of India in their Group F opener.Nazrin Nawi’s opener for the hosts on nine minutes was cancelled out by Ranti Martins on 35 minutes only for Safiq Rahim to put Johor in front once again three minutes later from the penalty spot to give them the lead at the interval. Suppiah Chanturu’s goal two minutes into the second half gave Johor breathing space and the result was all but sewn up on 52 minutes as Safee Sali acrobatically scored the home side’s fourth and final goal.
KINGFISHER EAST BENGAL FC 1 – 1 KITCHEE SC     Kitchee SC played an 1-1 draw with Kingfisher East Bengal side in the AFC Cup Matchday Two meeting at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata.Spanish forward Juan Belencoso had put Kitchee in the lead on the half hour mark but the Hong Kong champions saw their lead snuffed out by Ranti Martins’ equaliser for East Bengal in the 74th minute.
BALESTIER KHALSA FC 2 – 1 KINGFISHER EAST BENGAL FC     Two goals in the first 20 minutes laid the foundation for Balestier Khalsa’s first-ever win in the AFC Cup as the Singapore Cup winners edged India’s Kingfisher East Bengal 2-1 at Jalan Besar Stadium.Xu was first to the loose ball following hesitancy in the visiting defence and he rifled past goalkeeper Abhijit Mondal to score his club’s first goal in the competition. Lack of organisation at the back was further exploited again in the 19th minute when Kristic was first to receive a long ball from Ho Wai Loon, sped ahead of the defence and slotted past Mondal to double Balestier’s lead. Eight minutes from time as Omagbemi Dudu volleyed home off a flick-on inside the area to reduce the gap and set up a late push for a point.
KINGFISHER EAST BENGAL FC 3 – 0 BALESTIER KHALSA FC     Kingfisher East Bengal claimed their first win in the 2015 AFC Cup and kept their dream of qualifying for the Round of 16 alive with a comfortable 3-0 victory over tournament debutants Balestier Khalsa. After suffering a 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture in Singapore last month, the red and gold brigade took the lead at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium with a header from striker Baldeep Singh midway through the first half. Despite an improved performance by the Singaporeans in the second half, an own-goal by defender Nurullah Hussein and a neat finish by Nigerian substitute Ranti Martins wrapped things up for the home side in the final 20 minutes.
KINGFISHER EAST BENGAL FC 0 – 1 JOHOR DARUL TA’ZIM     Kingfisher East Bengal went down to Johor Darul Ta’zim (Malaysia) 0-1 at VYBK. Although the match played in incessant rain and thunder was dominated by the Red and Gold, they conceded a self goal by Raju Gaikwad in the 6th minute.
KITCHEE UNITED 2 – 2 KINGFISHER EAST BENGAL FC     Kitchee shared a 2-2 draw with Kingfisher East Bengal at Mong Kok Stadium on Tuesday night. Lam Ka Wai opened the scoring for the home side with a nifty volley in the 14th minute, and then Xu Deshuai doubled the lead on 58 minutes with a curling left foot drive. But Ranti Martins then pulled one back for East Bengal with ten minutes remaining before the visitors equalised through Cavin Lobo in the last minute.
