Ka-Kro Duo Shines For the Mariners Again

Mohun Bagan made it 4 wins on the trot in the ongoing Calcutta Football League when they defeated Calcutta Customs 2-0 at their home ground. The 2 goals were scored by the foreign attacking duo of  Kamo and Kromah. A large number of fans gathered to witness their favourite team play and those who didn’t get tickets waited in the rampart like old times.

The 1st goal came in the 32nd minute when a thunderbolt of a shot from Kamo saw the ball reaching the back of the net and thereby giving an early lead for the Mariners. Customs got a free kick in the 40th minute at a distance of almost 30 yards which rattled the crossbar after a brilliant shot from Sourav Das Gupta. A couple of minutes later a shot from Kromah saw the ball hitting the woodwork again while Azhar too missed a couple of opportunities in the first half. The 51st minute saw a cross of Chesterpaul Lyngdoh from the right wing landing in the opponent’s box which was calmly finished by Kromah who made the scoreline 2-0.

This was a crucial victory for Mohun Bagan without their star goalkeeper Shilton Paul, who was sidelined due to a serious injury and a young lad, Shibinraj did pretty well to manage a clean sheet although he too was substituted towards the end of the game.
