Mohun Bagan served October deadline for improving stadium conditions

2017 I-League runners-up Mohun Bagan have no choice but to get their club ground all ready by early October if they are to host their home games there in the next I-League season.

The ultimatum comes from I-League CEO Sunandho Dhar who inspected the venue on Wednesday and made it clear that a lot of work remains to be done, if the club are to host I-League matches at the venue.

The Mariners began their Calcutta Football League (CFL) preparations on Wednesday with 31 players training under the watchful eyes of Shankarlal Chakraborty, who will coach the team with Sanjoy Sen playing the role of the mentor. However, Sen will take over the team for the I-League which is expected to start in November.

Mohun Bagan’s foreign strike recruits, Ansumana Kromah and Kamo Bayi, were also present on Wednesday as the Green and Maroon brigade stepped up the efforts to break East Bengal’s seven-year hegemony on the CFL title.
