Pune FC played out a 3-3 draw against Nay Pyi Taw FC of Myanmar to virtually end their AFC Cup campaign in group stage. The Indian outfit failed to register a single win from the group matches. Drawn 3 and losing 2, Pune FC have just managed 3 points from 5 matches.
On the 36th minute Thongkhoseim Haokip netted from an open header to put Pune FC in front. But within 6 minutes a midfield error proved costly for the visitors as Aung found the far post to pull the host level.
Pune FC began dominating proceedings as the second half began. Six minutes after restart, Pune FC got an golden opportunity to take lead when Gabriel Fernandes earned a penalty which captain Douhou Pierre failed to convert. Having fallen behind Pune FC started pressing the host and it paid off on the 80th minute when Calum drilled through a low shot at the near post from 30 yards.
Pune FC would play an inconsequential match against Hong Kong club Kitchee in their last group stage match.
