World Cup trophy comes to Kolkata

Football’s most coveted trophy is on a world tour. The trophy will travel across 90 cities of different countries in 267 days.The football capital of India, Kolkata got the opportunity to show the world cup trophy to the millions of football loving Bengalis.
FIFA partnering with Coca-Cola has been conducting this program for the last three years. Coca-Cola have roped in two cricketing maestros of India, Sachin Tendulkar and the home town hero Sourav Ganguly, for the promotion.

Carlos Alberto Torres a member of Brazil’s 1970 World Cup winning squad, unveiled the trophy. This was Carlos’ second visit to India. First when he came here, he represented Cosmos along with Pele in 1977 and played against Mohun Bagan in an exhibition match.

AIFF Secretary, Mr. Kushal Das and Vice President, Mr. Subrata Dutta along with IFA secretary Utpal Ganguly was also present in the event.
